How to plant a tree?

ree

Planting a tree has many benefits such as reducing climate change, purifying air, providing oxygen, providing food, cooling down the streets and homes, providing shelters for wildlife and reinforcing soil.

There are 2 ways you can plant a tree: the easiest but most expensive one or the cheapest one that requires more effort.

#1: easiest but most expensive way of planting a tree

  1. go to the nearest nursery garden near you

  2. buy the tree you want to plant (prices may vary but remember you're investing in your own well-being)

  3. find a location that will allow the roots to spread, away from buildings

  4. dig a hole as deep as the root ball and two times as wide

  5. remove the tree from its container

  6. place the root ball in the hole

  7. fill the hole until the soil line is even with the surrounding soil surface

  8. gently tamp the soil around the tree to remove air pockets

  9. mulch the base of the tree, about a 2-3 inch layer (15-35USD)

  10. water the tree once every day the first 2 weeks, then just once a week until it is well established.

#2: cheapest way of planting a tree but requires more effort

  1. get a pot (5-10USD)

  2. get gravel (5USD) and put a layer at the bottom of the pot

  3. fill the pot with soil

  4. add the tree seeds (1-2USD)

  5. cover with a thin layer of soil

  6. water the seedling

  7. put your pot in the sunshine

  8. water 2-3 times a week

  9. wait for it to grow

  10. when it is grown enough (medium/big size) find a location that will allow the roots to spread, away from buildings

  11. dig a hole as deep as the root ball and two times as wide

  12. remove the tree from its container

  13. place the root ball in the hole

  14. fill the hole until the soil line is even with the surrounding soil surface

  15. gently tamp the soil around the tree to remove air pockets

  16. mulch the base of the tree (2-3 in layer)

  17. water the tree once every day the first 2 weeks, then just once a week until it is well established.
